Care we provide
Personal Care
Respectful help with bathing, grooming, dressing and moving safely around the house.
Chapter 01
The help people least want to ask for
Bathing, dressing and toileting are where dignity gets lost first, and most families know it before they ever call. Somebody who has managed their own body their whole life does not want to need help with it, and the person offering that help has to understand that before they walk in the door.
We say this directly rather than talking around it, because pretending it is not the hard part does not make it easier for anyone. This page's whole job is to say plainly what is involved and treat it with the respect it deserves.

How a shower is actually done safely
Bathing and shower support, grooming and dressing assistance, toileting reminders, and safe movement and transfer assistance for getting in, out and around the bathroom without a fall. Each step is done at the pace the person needs, not the pace that gets the visit finished faster.
Meal and hydration reminders and general comfort checks run alongside it, so personal care is one part of a visit that treats the whole person, not an isolated task on a list.
Chapter 03
Privacy as a working rule, not a slogan
J N J names care with dignity as one of its own values, and personal care is where that gets tested every single visit. Privacy is not a courtesy extended when convenient. It is a working rule: knock, explain, cover what does not need to be exposed, and let the person keep as much control over the process as they can.
Respect shows up in small decisions, like which door stays closed and who is told what. Those choices are made the same way every time, because consistency is part of what makes someone feel safe enough to ask for help at all.
When personal care is the thing that prevents a fall
The bathroom is the room where most falls actually happen, wet floors, a step into the tub, a moment of losing balance while reaching for a towel. Comfort checks and safe transfer support during exactly this routine are not extra caution. They are the reason a bad morning does not turn into an emergency room visit.
Families sometimes think of personal care as the least essential service on this list. In practice it is often the one doing the most to keep someone safe, precisely because it happens in the room where things go wrong fastest.
